MEXICO CITY — The Bank of Mexico raised interest rates for a fourth consecutive meeting, as expected, citing persistent inflation pressures and rising inflation expectations.

The central bank’s five-member board voted 4-1 Thursday to lift the overnight interest-rate target by a quarter percentage point to 5.0%. Deputy Governor Gerardo Esquivel voted to leave the rate at 4.75%.
