The U.S. secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen met with Mexico’s Finance secretary, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, in Washington October 12 discussing a wide range of economic-related topics, according to statement issued by the Treasury.
Secretary Yellen reinforced Treasury’s commitment to strengthen cooperation on illicit finance and to deepen U.S.-Mexico trade and economic relations, the Treasury said.
Yellen also welcomed Mexico’s efforts to boosts “social spending measures to help those struggling with the impact of the pandemic, and encouraged economic policy commitments that will combat climate change while accomplishing strong growth,” the statement said.
